Sandra Suasnabar Bio

Sandra Suasnabar is originally from Lima, Peru and has been living in unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territories for more than a decade. She has been working in non-profit and social justice agencies for 10 years; designing and providing direct support services to diverse communities. Sandra is a certified Expressive Arts therapist and Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC). She has also trained in community development, leadership, popular education, counseling, and fine arts. In her work, Sandra draws from her lived experiences as a queer indigenous woman and as a migrant. She applies intersectional feminism, trauma informed and anti-oppressive approaches to her day to day. Sandra has found in Expressive Arts Therapy a way of living; a place to find endless reservoirs for creativity and resourcefulness.
